US Airways is urging its customers to visit its web site - http://www.usairways.com - which offers travel tips for the busy holiday period. The site also provides travel information such as weather reports, and enables customers to check-in for flights, select seat assignments and print boarding passes from home up to 90 minutes before departure.
More than 1,00 passengers were forced to evacuate a ferry using stairs and emergency ladders borrowed from Greek carrier, Olympic Airways yesterday (19 November). A fire in a truck aboard the ferry reportedly caused an electrical short circuit that prevented crews from opening the hull-level doors at Iraklion on the island of Crete.
Airport officials at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) have announced its special programmes and new features which travellers may want to take advantage of during the holiday season. The programmes and features include Meeters & Greeters which offers up to 45 minutes of parking in any of the airport's short-term parking lots for USD1; a day's parking in the Big Blue Deck and Yellow Lot for USD5; new shops and restaurants, and a new luxury-class on-airport hotel.
