New Zealand Prime Minister screened for explosives at Sydney airport

Australian airport security staff removed the New Zealand Prime Minister from a security check point and scanned her for explosives.

The Prime Minister Helen Clark was heading to Afghanistan and Iraq to visit New Zealand troops when she was stopped at a security check at Sydney Airport on 28 October 2003. She was reportedly removed from the queue and scanned with a new explosive detection device.

Clark was accompanied by a New Zealand security officer and her senior press officer, reported The Associated Press.
