An Air New Zealand aircraft landed safely at New Zealand's Auckland Airport today (26 November) amid tight security.

Security was increased after somebody at Australia's Brisbane airport was overheard making a threat to aircraft heading towards New Zealand. The Boeing 767 aircraft, flying from Brisbane to Auckland, landed without further incident at the airport.

Security checks later determined that there was no threat to any aircraft travelling across the Tasman Sea, reported The Associated Press.
