New Zealand's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is reportedly concerned that its aircraft could be flying overloaded.
The authority has revealed that its standard measurement of passengers' weight is set too low. The last survey conducted in 1999 found that the average weight of New Zealanders was 85 kilograms, however the standard used when measuring aircraft weight has remained at 77 kilograms.
The CAA has also stated that the average weight has risen since its last survey, and that a new survey is now required, reported ABC Radio Australia News.
