Haneda Airport closed temporarily following earthquake in Tokyo

Tokyo's Haneda Airport has been temporarily closed today (15 October) following a moderately strong earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale.

Officials at the airport - which handles mostly domestic flights - decided to close the airport's three runway temporarily to conduct checks. However, flight at Narita airport, located outside of Tokyo, were not affected.

There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries caused by the earthquake, and no tsunami warning has been issued, reported Reuters.
