AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2003 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has added an ultra-long-range Airbus A340-500 aircraft to its fleet. The new aircraft will reportedly offer one of the longest non-stop commercial services worldwide on its first flight from Singapore to Los Angeles in February 2004. The service will take about 16 hours to Los Angeles and about 18.5 hours on the return flight.

American Express has announced a US-wide promotion running through to the end of the year that will enable Classic, Gold and Platinum Delta SkyMiles Credit Cardmembers and Delta SkyMiles Business Credit Cardmembers to earn miles faster. Cardmembers can earn triple SkyMiles when they use their card to make Song purchases including airline tickets at http://www.flysong.com and for all in-flight purchases. Cardmembers will also receive a special 1,000-mile bonus for their first in-flight purchase with the card.

CAE SimuFlite and MedAire have teamed to launch a new Global Operations training programme for aviation professionals. The programme - available at the CAE SimuFlite Dallas training centre - is designed to meet the needs of international business aircraft operators and offer in-depth training that will enhance their safety and efficiency.
