United Airlines has reportedly joined global distribution services (GDS) company Galileo International's Preferred Fares Select programme.
Under the programme Galileo-connected travel agencies and their customers will have complete access to all of United Airlines' published fares. This includes all fares the airline sells through any other GDS, third-party web sites or its own web site and reservation offices.
Galileo International - which also has agreements with Northwest Airlines, Continental and US Airways - expects to add additional carriers to the programme in the short term.
