An Ethiopian Airlines aircraft had to be evacuated yesterday (1 October) when a fire broke out after it had landed in Dubai.

The aircraft had arrived in Dubai following a flight from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, when an airport official noticed flames on the right side of the aircraft as it was taxiing in. The official notified the pilot, who ordered all 229 passengers and crew members to evacuate the flight.

The fire is believed to have been caused by leaking hydraulic oil, however officials are investigating the incident, according to The Associated Press.
