Serbian carrier JAT Airways has resumed its services to Sarajevo following a five-year break.
Flights between Belgrade and Sarajevo were resumed briefly in 1998, but were stopped due to sanctions on the Yugoslav government as punishment over its policy in Kosovo. According to the Serbian Minister for Traffic and Telecommunications, the new service is part of a plan to reconnect Belgrade with all major cities in the region.
JAT Airways also wants to help Bosnia's grounded national airline Air Bosna to resume operations, Reuters reported.
