A number of flight cancellations and delays occurred at Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport due to a surprise strike by staff at companies that deliver aircraft fuel to the airport.

Air France was yesterday (22 October) forced to cancel 11 short-haul flights, while there were brief delays on some medium-haul flights. Long-haul flights were not affected. Passengers have been urged to contact airlines to verify departure times due to the action.

The reason behind the action is currently unclear.
