Italian carrier Alitalia is to cancel some services scheduled for tomorrow (24 October) due to a general strike by Italy's labour unions.
The unions are holding a four-hour strike in opposition to the government's plan to reform the pension system. Due to the action, the airline will cancel some 83 national and 72 international flights from 1230 to 1630 local time. Another 124 flights will also be delayed or rerouted, with some 24,000 people affected.
No intercontinental flights are expected to be cancelled, The Associated Press reported.
