The Medan Customs office is planning to increase the number of its sniffer dogs at Polonia Airport.

Officials have reportedly decided to increase the number of dogs to four following a foiled attempt by a South African national to smuggle heroin through the international airport. The man was detained on Saturday (25 October) after officials found he had swallowed 65 capsules, each containing 1.1 grams of heroin, following an X-ray examination.

The local customs service currently has one sniffer dog, according to The Associated Press.
