A South African man detained at Medan's Polonia Airport on 25 October has passed 68 heroin-filled capsules he attempted to smuggle.
The 29-year-old had arrived at the airport on a flight from Kuala Lumpur, where his pale complexion aroused suspicion among customs officers. The man was taken to the nearby Elizabeth Hospital for an X-ray, which revealed the capsules concealed in his stomach.
The man was reportedly given medication to make the capsules containing the drug pass through his system.
