Israel is to bar foreign aircraft without bulletproof cockpit doors from landing at its international airport.
The new regulation - to go into effect on 1 November 2003 - is designed to tighten security at Ben Gurion International Airport, located outside Tel Aviv. To enforce the measure, inspectors will board flights landing at the airport to check for the reinforced doors and those airlines found not to have them will be issued with a warning.
Repeat violations of the new measure will result in airlines being barred from landing, according to The Associated Press.
