Three employees at Dhaka's Zia International Airport were stabbed after refusing to pay a toll to a gang of armed miscreants.

An armed gang reportedly entered the canopy at the airport at about 1000 local time yesterday (30 October) and demanded BDT1,000 from 11 staff members who were on duty. The employees refused to pay the money prompting the gang, equipped with firearms and machetes, to stab three of the employees.

Employees managed to detain one of the miscreants, but the rest managed to escape, The Associated Press reported.
