Japan Air System forms maintenance contract with JTT

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2003 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Japan Air System has formed a three-year contract with Japan Turbine Technologies (JTT) covering the maintenance and repair of high-pressure turbine air-foils for V2500 engines.

Under the agreement, JTT - a joint venture of Pratt & Whitney and Japan Airlines - will perform work on 32 engines and six spares used to power 16 Boeing MD90 aircraft. The work will be performed at JTT's facility near New Tokyo International Airport in Narita.

The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
