Typhoon Dujuan continued to disrupt air traffic across southern China yesterday (3 September).

Numerous flights from Shenzhen airport and nearby Guangzhou were cancelled due to the typhoon, affecting about 3,000 passengers. Earlier, the typhoon caused chaos at Hong Kong airport, cancelling about 151 flights and delaying a further 115 after causing a major blackout in Taiwan.

Despite the disruption Dujuan has weakened into a tropical storm although the Chinese government is continuing to refer to it as a typhoon, The Associated Press reported.
