Malaysia Airlines flight encounters engine problems

A flight operated by Malaysia Airlines made an unscheduled emergency landing on Tuesday (13 April) after developing engine problems.

The flight - bound for Abu Dhabi - made an emergency landing at Chennai international airport after the pilot detected a fault in one of the aircraft's engines. Fire crews and other emergency services were kept on stand-by during the landing as a precautionary measure.

None of the 120 passengers on the Airbus aircraft were injured. The passengers were given hotel accommodation while the defect was corrected.
