Aircraft strikes jet bridge at Southwest Florida airport

An aircraft was reportedly blown into a jet bridge at Southwest Florida International Airport during heavy winds on Tuesday (13 April).

The aircraft was being readied at gate A1A for a flight to Charlotte when it struck the ramp used to get passengers on and off the aircraft. The aircraft suffered damage to the tip of its wing, whilst the bridge also sustained some damage.

No passengers were on the aircraft at the time of the incident. Another aircraft was used to fly the passengers to Charlotte.
