A Malaysian airline pilot has reportedly lost his appeal against the Singapore government's decision to strip him of his residency.
The captain - a Malaysian citizen - was singled out by Singapore's Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew as the main instigator in a November vote by pilots to sack their union leaders for giving into wage cuts and layoffs imposed by Singapore Airlines. The Controller of Immigration then decided to cancel the man's entry and re-entry permits.
The Minister for Home Affairs has now decided that the man's written representation did not provide reasonable justification and fresh grounds for consideration to overturn the decision, reported Reuters.
