UK aero-engine maker Rolls-Royce is said to be in talks about a possible revenue-sharing deal concerning a new engine for the Boeing 7E7 aircraft.
The possible revenue-sharing deal would spread the risk of making a new engine for use in the new US aircraft. Boeing has estimated a market of 3,500 of the proposed 7E7 aircraft over a 20-year period, with the total value of engines for a market that size worth around USD100bn according to Rolls-Royce.
Rolls-Royce and General Electric Co's Aircraft Engines unit have both been named to supply engines for the new aircraft.
