Representatives of anti-aircraft noise protest group HACAN ClearSkies lobbied the European Parliament in Strasbourg last week.

The group is hoping to gain support from MEPs in its fight against night flights at London's Heathrow Airport. The members want to see an end to night flights into the airport, which has an average of 16 aircraft arriving during the night. The residents complain of disturbed sleep patterns due to the night flights which take place between 2330 and 0600 local time.

The HACAN members are seeking to get a Written Declaration signed by over 314 MEPs, which may carry strength with the European Commission when it makes the final legal decision on the flights.
