Portuguese-based airlines Tap-Air Portugal, Portugalia Airlines and Air Luxor have all announced that they will be introducing fuel surcharges within the coming weeks.

Tap-Air Portugal will be charging EUR3 per one-way short haul flight and EUR7 per one way long-haul flight beginning on 23 August 2004 along with Portugalia Airlines which will be charging EUR6 surcharge for round-trip flights to Europe and domestic flights.

Air Luxor said that its EUR6 charge per one-way flight will begin immediately. All the new surcharges are in response to the rising fuel prices which have deeply affected the airline market, reports Reuters.
