UK-based no-frills airline easyJet has said that it will no longer fly to Zurich, Switzerland due to the high airport charges.

The airline said that the 132% increase in passenger fees at the Swiss airport and 'onerous operating restrictions' had led the airline to its decision to close its Luton to Zurich route on 31 October 2004.

A spokesperson for easyJet said that it would replace the Zurich service with flights to Basel, Switzerland beginning on 1 November 2004.
