Talks between US Airways and the union that represents its pilots collapsed on Sunday (22 August).
The Air Line Pilots Association said in a statement that it was disappointed that US Airways' latest proposal "failed to respond in any substantive way" to its proposal of 21 August.
US Airways is hoping to conclude agreements with its labour unions by early September, and has warned that it may face bankruptcy if it cannot restructure outside of court.
