Carmen Systems AB signs long-term agreement with Virgin Atlantic Airways

The Swedish airline and railway resource optimisation solutions developer Carmen Systems AB said on Tuesday (24 August) that it had signed a long-term agreement with the UK airline Virgin Atlantic Airways for the use of Carmen's Crew Planning solutions for all of its crew of 3,800.
The use of Carmen's optimization solutions and proprietary rule language, Carmen Rave, would help Virgin Atlantic to control costs through greater flexibility and increased efficiency in the planning process.
Virgin Atlantic plans to have the new system in operation for all crew by March 2005, according to the company.
The agreement was valued at more than EUR3m.
