AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

America West Airlines is to introduce additional services between its Las Vegas hub and 11 existing destinations from 31 October 2004. Flights will be added on routes to Chicago/O'Hare; Denver; Los Angeles; Minneapolis/St. Paul; Oakland, Calif.; Orange County, Calif.; Portland, Ore.; Salt Lake City; San Jose, Calif.; Seattle/Tacoma; and Vancouver, British Columbia.

AirTran Airways is to begin new weekly nonstop services between Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport and both Akron-Canton Regional Airport and Pittsburgh International Airport. The new Saturday flights will start on 20 November 2004.

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has started its service to Bahrain International Airport. The inaugural flight carried 127 passengers and 16 crew members, and was welcomed by senior officials, reports the Bahrain Tribune.

Continental Airlines plans to introduce nonstop flights between Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Huatulco, Mexico. The four times weekly service, which is subject to government approval, would be operated by Continental Express using an Embraer-145 regional jet with seating for 50 passengers.
