Iraqi Airways has operated a test flight from Amman in Jordan to the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
The flight, using a Boeing 737 aircraft, was the airline's first since the United Nations imposed sanctions on Saddam Hussein's regime in 1990 following the invasion of Kuwait.
Iraqi Airways is planning to fly once a week from the Jordanian capital to Baghdad, with more routes added at a later date, reports The Associated Press.
