Alitalia loses market share in July and August

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Italian airline Alitalia has said that its domestic market share fell to 45% in July and August this year, down from about 50% in the same period last year.
The company's revenues in the two months were also below expected levels, according to a statement from Alitalia.
The struggling carrier is currently awaiting approval of its restructuring plan in order to release a government-backed rescue loan of EUR400m.
