Norwegian airline SAS Braathens, part of the Scandinavian airline group SAS, has reportedly increased its ticket prices by up to 35%.

The new prices would reportedly take effect on Tuesday (3 August) on tickets for departures after 16 August. The price rise on one-way tickets would be NOK45-190.

However, Petter Jansen, manager of SAS Braathens, was quoted as saying that the cheap one-way tickets on SAS Braathens' domestic flights in South Norway and between South and North Norway would retain their low prices of NOK360-540.

The new prices are reportedly hoped to keep SAS Braathens on track to reach profitability in 2005.

According to the Norwegian daily Aftenposten, it was likely that SAS Braathens' rival Norwegian would also take the opportunity to increase its prices.
