UK-based low-cost carrier easyJet has announced that it is to withdraw two of its UK routes to Copenhagen, Denmark due to rising airport charges.

The Newcastle-Copenhagen route will end on 15 December 2004 along with the airline's Bristol-Copenhagen route because of new taxes levied by the Danish government which would add GBP7 to the cost of a ticket.

A spokesperson for the airline said that it could continue to fill its flights to Copenhagen for years but it would not be making any money on them, reports IC Newcastle.
