Finnish airline Finnair Plc reportedly said on Monday (9 August) that it does not plan surcharges in response to increased oil prices, but would raise air fares where possible.

"We acknowledge that the oil price is high and puts some pressure on our fares," Finnair spokesman Taneli Hassinen was quoted as saying, adding: "(But) we cannot put any kind of surcharge on the fares because the dynamics of pricing does not allow that".

"We will try to raise (fares) as the market allows us," the spokesman reportedly said.

Hassinen did not to say how oil prices were impacting Finnair's results, according to Reuters.
