Scheduled airline service to restart at Palmdale Regional Airport

The mayors of Los Angeles and Palmdale have announced that Palmdale Regional Airport will reopen for scheduled flights from 29 December 2004.
The airport will house a daily scheduled service between Palmdale and North Las Vegas Airport run by Scenic Airlines from 29 December 2004. The new service will mark the first time that Palmdale has run a scheduled service since 1997.
Mayor of Los Angeles Jim Hahn said that Palmdale Regional Airport plays a key role in his vision for regional air travel in California and will help relieve congestion at Los Angeles International Airport. Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford said that he was delighted to have a scheduled air service from the airport again and thanked Jim Hahn and the airport authorities for their support.
