TSA amends new rule on reporting of suspicious incidents

The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has reportedly amended a new requirement for airlines and airports to report any suspicious incidents.

The rule, which is aimed at helping the agency identify terrorist activity, was criticised by airports and airlines as being unnecessary and a duplication of existing requirements. The TSA has now said that airports need not report all incidents that could be considered a security threat, but only those considered important on a national basis.

Airlines however are still required to inform the Transportation Security Operations Center of all suspicious incidents.
