Cathay Pacific aircraft lands safely in Osaka with engine trouble

A Cathay Pacific Airways flight landed safely in Osaka, Japan on Thursday night (9 December) after developing engine trouble.
The CX564 flight, operated with an Airbus A330, was reportedly on its way from Hong Kong to Taipei when the number two engine showed "fluctuating parameters" and the pilot asked for a priority landing. The airline said that the pilot had to shut down the affected engine, The Associated Press reported.
The flight had 148 passengers and 13 crew members aboard. The airline has said that it is investigating the cause of the problem.
