A Russian passenger aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing on Tuesday (14 December) in Chelyabinsk in the Ural Mountains after an alarm went off in the cockpit.

The alarm indicated a problem with the engine oil, an airline spokesperson said.

The Sibir Airlines Tu-154 was carrying 118 passengers and at least eight crew members en route to Moscow. No one was injured, reported The Associated Press.
