Air Europa to order 10 Airbus A350s

Spanish airline Air Europa has announced plans to purchase 10 Airbus A350-800 aircraft, the French aircraft manufacturer's direct rival to Boeing's 7E7 aircraft.

Air Europa has signed a memorandum of understanding to place an order for 10 A350-800 aircraft with an option for two more. A spokesperson for Airbus said that the catalogue price for the A350-800 is USD153m.

The deal is part of Air Europa's planned fleet renewal and expansion, which will also see it lease one A340-200 aircraft in 2005 and two A330-200s in 2006, reports India Daily.
