US Airways has reached an agreement on contract changes with its customer service and reservations call centre employees.

In a ratification vote held by the Communications Workers of America union, which represents some 5,600 of US Airways' passenger service employees, 60% supported the proposed amendments.

The deal, which must also be approved by the bankruptcy court, is expected to save the airline approximately USD137m per year. It includes a 13% pay reduction, benefit cuts and changes to work rules.
