Morocco will spend MAD3bn (USD363.5m) to bring airport infrastructure and security up to international standards over the next three years, the airport authority said on Friday (24 December).

The plan is a part of the Moroccan government's strategy to increase the number of foreign tourists to 10m by 2010, said a statement by National Airport Authority (ONDA).

A new terminal at Casablanca Mohammed V international airport, which is scheduled for completion by end-2006, is expected to cost MAD800m (USD97m) and increase the annual capacity to 8m passengers.
