A Los Angeles International Airport terminal was temporarily shut down Wednesday (29 December) after a passenger aboard a flight preparing to depart ran from the plane and triggered an alarm, said the authorities.

The passenger, whose name was not disclosed, aboard an ATA jetliner ran into the terminal and was chased by an ATA employee. The alarm was triggered when the man left the terminal through another gate and tried to hide in a luggage cart, said an airport spokesperson. Police and FBI investigators were questioning the man, who was not immediately charged with any crime, said the spokesperson.
