Southwest Airlines reports November traffic

US low-cost carrier Southwest Airlines has announced that the company flew 4.3bn revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in November 2004, compared to 3.8bn RPMs flown in November 2003.

Available seat miles (ASMs) increased by 11.1% to 6.6bn from 5.9bn in November 2003. The load factor for the month was 65.5%, compared to 63.7% for November 2003.

For the 11 months ended 30 November 2004 Southwest Airlines flew 49.1bn RPMs, compared to 44.0bn RPMs for the same period in 2003. Available seat miles increased by 6.6% to 70bn and the year-to-date load factor was 70.2%, compared to 67.0% for the first 11 months of last year.
