Polish low-cost airline Air Polonia will have to declare bankruptcy within days unless new investors are found, a senior company official said on Tuesday (7 December).

Because of financial problems Air Polonia unexpectedly suspended all flights on Sunday (5 December), affecting 53,000 passengers who have already purchased tickets for the coming months.

Air Polonia, which was the first Polish low-cost airline, began operating in December 2003 and operated flights between Warsaw and destinations including Rome, London, Brussels and Paris.
