European budget airline Ryanair is reportedly planning to operate aircraft without window blinds or reclining seats.

The Dublin-based carrier has allegedly asked for "non-essential" items to be removed from a newly ordered batch of Boeing aircraft, according to a spokesperson for the airline. The items to be removed included reclining seats, blinds, head rests and seat pockets.

The changes are hoped to speed aircraft turnaround times and save more than GBP1m annually, reported The Associated Press.
