AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Honda Motor Co and General Electric Co have agreed to jointly develop, produce and market a new jet engine for small business aircraft. The new engine will be based on the HF118 turbofan engine, which Honda developed on its own and which was mounted on its experimental "HondaJet" small business jet.

Aircraft manufacturer Boeing is reportedly introducing a redesigned lavatory for its Next-Generation 737 commercial aircraft. The new toilet is said to be more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing for passengers, whilst being easier for airlines to maintain. China Southern Airlines will be the first to offer the new facility aboard its Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
