Continuing strike action by air traffic controllers yesterday (17 February) disrupted operations at Paris' two airports.

The air traffic controllers began their strike action on Monday (16 February) at Paris' Orly airport to protest against a reorganisation of air traffic over the French capital. The stoppage was called by two leading trade unions, and followed an earlier strike on Wednesday 11 February.

The action - which has also affected operations at Charles de Gaulle airport - is expected to continue until 27 February, with a break this weekend when air traffic should run normally.

The action was initially planned to cease on Friday (20 February), reported The Associated Press.
