Alitalia flight delayed by unruly passenger

An Alitalia aircraft that was preparing for takeoff from Newark Liberty International Airport on Monday (23 February) was forced to return to the gate after a passenger became unruly.

A passenger allegedly became so unruly that he was subdued by other passengers and crew members and removed from the aircraft by police. Details of the incident on board were not disclosed.

The man was taken by ambulance to hospital for observation, according to The Associated Press.

The flight eventually departed for Milan more than three hours later than scheduled.
