A new airline is to be launched in Cambodia by Prime Minister Hun Sen's eldest daughter and a group of local and foreign executives.

Hun Mana is a partner in First Cambodia Airlines. The exact size of her stake has not been disclosed but the company's CEO said that Hun Mana and Suor Pheng, the airline's chairman, together control 51% of the company.

The remaining 49% stake is held by a consortium of investors from China and Hong Kong, reported The Associated Press.

First Cambodia Airlines currently has one 161-seat Airbus aircraft and its inaugural flight to Singapore is scheduled for Wednesday (25 February). The carrier will operate three weekly flights to each of three destinations: Guangzhou, China; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Singapore.

Four more aircraft are expected to be added to the airline's fleet by the end of 2004.
