Canadian low-fare carrier WestJet Airlines has said that its plans to expand its services at Toronto's Pearson International Airport will not be affected by a court ruling in favour of rival Air Canada.
The Ontario Superior Court confirmed on Monday (23 February) that Air Canada was entitled to preferential use of 14 gates at the airport's new passenger terminal. WestJet had reportedly hoped to be granted access to six of the gates.
The discount airline said that it was disappointed by the decision, but that its expansion of scheduled service from Toronto in April would go ahead as planned.
