Singapore has entered into an agreement with the United States to help aviation technology manufacturers cut costs and development time for new products.

The two countries have agreed to mutually recognise airworthiness certifications granted to aviation electronics (avionics).

According to Singapore's transport minister this will enable Singapore-based companies to manufacture and ship newly designed avionics products directly to US customers without requiring certification from the US government.
