Air Canada has launched its "Got the travel bug?" seat sale, which offers special fares for travel this spring to Canada. The sale applies to Air Canada customers travelling to and from 80 cities in the US, who purchase tickets by 9 March 2004. All travel must be completed by 3 June 2004.

Two no-frills Australian airlines launched a price war today (26 February), with JetStar offering 100,000 domestic tickets for just AUD29. Rival discount carrier Virgin Blue immediately put twice as many tickets up for sale at the same price. Jetstar is said to have sold 20,000 tickets in just a few hours, while Virgin Blue sold 60,000 in 15 hours.

Local air traffic across northern California was disrupted by a storm yesterday (25 February). San Francisco International Airport reported that some arriving flights were delayed an average of about one hour after midday. The storm had winds of up to 65 to 70 miles per hour and caused 236,000 people to lose their electricity service.
